ComiCenter Episode w/ Me & Fab Geek Ladies

Last week I was a guest with fabulous geek ladies Andrea Letamendi, Jenna Busch, and Sarah Kuhn on ComiCenter Live.  We discussed "boobgate," stereotyping of geek girls, usage of the phrase geek girls, and a bevy of other topics.  I am lucky to be friends with these smart and fantastic ladies!

  1. Just finished watching. There is no standard. Why do woman always get compared. No one starts talking about how much two guys know. I know a lot of shit but that doesn't make me a better geek than my brother who only likes Star Wars. It kind of annoys me.

  2. Totally enjoyed watching this! As a geek girl who has finally come out of the closet so to speak, it was very cool to hear from you and your panel about being a girl and a geek at the same time.

I definitely agree that there are different types of geeks and that we all don't have to like the same thing or fall into the same bubble. I too, don't know much about Dr. Who and I really haven't delved too much into comics or anime. But if you want to talk gladiators, sci-fi/fantasy movies and books - I'm all over it! However, I don't mind learning about other geeky things and definitely recognize that I'm not the expert in everything!

Great discussion! Thanks so much for sharing!

  3. Thank you for watching!

I really enjoyed the part of discussion where we talk about different geeks, too. I really want to foster that welcoming attitude.
